Happy Mother's Day to All of you!

Happy Mothers Day to all of you! I know that you, like me, are blessed by your children. I am so grateful for my beautiful boys. I prayed for many years to have beautiful, healthy children and I am so thankful for them. They are tons of fun! They are also a lot of work. On days when I'm tired and they are extra busy I am reminded of all the things my mother must have done for me and how tired she must have been. She is an amazing mother! I love her dearly and I KNOW she stayed busy taking care of us. I also adore my Mangaw(my grandma). She is very special and loves all her kids, grandkids, and greatgrandkids. I also am thankful for the mothers and grandmothers I gained when I got married. What a blessing to have so many loved ones! I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. I hope you are pampered a little bit. I also hope that you realize you are blessed and that you are a blessing to those around you!

Happy Mothers Day to me

As a mothers day present Grandaddy and Joy are keeping the kids overnight tonight and a good part of the day tomorrow. I am so excited! I see visions of scrapbooking, napping! maybe going to Sonic and just getting myself a drink without having to get 2 chocolate milks, fries, grilled cheese, and then still sharing my drink. You know how it is. We are blessed to have them near us and that they are so willing to let the kids hang out! Thank you!!!!!!

Did you know.....

that if Spiderman comes to your house and spins his web to try to hang from the towel rack in your bathroom your towel rack WILL fall off the wall. Now, I know this, too. This morning there was a crashing sound from Cason's bathroom and it sounded like something breakable so I'm thinking the toothbrush holder, etc. I went in there to find him screaming and very disappointed. He said he was Superman and he spun his web and he was HANGING from the towel rack and then it fell off the wall. We will be needing a new towel rack and maybe a small patch job.
I couldn't get onto him because he was so disappointed that the whole thing didn't work out. I just explained that Spiderman was WAY TOO STRONG to hang from the towel rack and that we should probably only spin our webs at the park where we can hang....

I love our town

The shirts were NOT planned
Waiting on the parade to start
Silly Boys

I love the area we live in. I think it is just the most perfect place. First of all it's not too far from home. We can be "home" in a little over an hour. (home is Gatesville for those of you who don't know. It also is just nice that it has a very small town feel with a small town square while having everything you need in very short driving distance. Last weekend we were able to go to a parade. Our town has a festival every year and they have a parade on Saturday morning and then there are vendors all over the square all day and all evening. There is also live music and local performers, etc. James had to work but the boys and I went downtown and enjoyed the parade with friends and Granddaddy came too.

Two Cute Pictures

I just posted these because I like them. There's no story to go with them. Just the boys beautiful faces!

More on the Tubes

Later that afternoon
If you aren't around us much you might not know that Carter has an addiction to his sippy cup. He wants a cup ALL the time. It can have milk of any flavor, juice of any flavor...he doesn't care as long as it is full and it isn't water. So then we decide to do tubes and all I can picture is my kid screaming his head off at the hospital waiting room because it's morning and he can't have a drink. All I can say is there must have been a lot of prayers for the situation because he was awesome. We took him from his bed at 6am and unfortunately he woke up. We put him in the car and he LAUGHED and talked on the way. We got to the hospital and he was absolutely perfect. His behavior was exceptional. He played with his aquadoodle and talked and laughed and watched the television they had set up in the room. He asked for juice around 7:15 or so but James just distracted him and he kept playing. He did such a great job. He flirted with the nurses and cooperated with everything everyone did.
Of course, his mood after the procedure was a whole different story...I'm sure you've all been there but considering everything he did fabulous! Yeah Carter!

I forgot to really mention birthdays in my little catch up post. Can I just say we celebrate every event numerous times. We have recently started only celebrating Thanksgiving once a year...in the past we were known to go to numerous places for Thanksgiving...although we do celebrate in October with our Canadian Friends. It's a great way to get to eat Thanksgiving food early. We go to seven Christmas celebrations, we had seven easter egg hunts, etc. So of course we don't just do birthdays once. The boys birthdays are only a monthe apart. Instead of having family make 2 trips this year we had a combined party for them in the middle of the month in Gatesville. It was a lot of fun. For Cason's birthday here he got to celebrate on Thursday at preschool, then we celebrated on Saturday with friends at the park, then on Sunday (his actual birthday) James made him pancakes for breakfast, he got to pick lunch(Schlotzkys pizza),we had the leftover cupcakes and he received some more gifts at a Super Bowl Party. On Sunday afternoon he got to go with James to the store to pick out a bicycle and helmet. What a great day! Then just two weeks later was the combined party in Gatesville...so we were going through a little Birthdayitis as I called it,he was thinking his birthday was pretty important to say the least. I can't blame him, I think his birthday is a blessing. What a fun four years!
Carter also celebrated his birthday at preschool and then we had friends over on his birthday to eat cupcakes and Schlotzkys pizza. He was not as much aware what all was going on so he didn't party quite so much. He had, of course, already partied in Gatesville. He turned two! He's also a blessing.
We are so very blessed to have two amazingly beautiful healthy boys. We love them dearly and have so much fun playing with them and watching them learn.

Here I go again!

6:34 AM...waiting on tubes

I really do want to keep up with this. I can't say that I haven't had the time to write...I just haven't used my time wisely. However, I am turning over a new leaf. I've had a few eye opening lessons lately relating to using my time wisely and I hope that I can take them to heart and follow through. I realize that a lot of that makes no sense to you, the reader, but what you can take from that is that hopefully it really does mean more blogging! YEA! So enjoy. I can't possibly catch you up on our lives since Christmas but I will give you a run down.
The boys and I are 3 weeks away from the end of preschool. Preschool has been busy lately. We've had Spring Pictures, Bike Day, the Firemen came, and we had our Easter Parties. They have these two weeks and then the last week is their end of year program and Splash Day. Then we will no longer have T/Th mornings to get all our energy out. For me, that means I have to be a more energetic, active, creative mother. I need to find some fun and exciting things to do that are also cheap. So I used some time this week to start looking up surrounding pool hours, and opening dates, and library storytimes, etc. I plan to keep us busy. James is down to about 4 weeks. Then he will be home with us for all the summer fun:)
Cason is as talkative as ever. He has LOTS of things to say...to EVERYBODY he meets. The checkers at the grocery store are very sweet to listen to all the stories he has for them. They are also very sweet to answer all his many questions. He is so inquisitive. Every day is something new which is why I really need to keep up with the blogging. Because I can never remember everything and I need it to be written somewhere. Since the fireman just recently came to preschool and talked about 911 and what to do in an emergency we've been having lots of "emergencies" in our house. We are constantly acting out some emergency situation while he is the police or firefighter or whatever we need him to be. He currently has a lot of questions about God. He is such a logical thinker that he is having trouble wrapping his little head around the concept. He wants to know where exactly is God?, How can he see us if we can't see him? Can he hear us even when we whisper? Can we go see him? Why not? Does he fly? How can he see everybody? Is he like magic? Is he an angel? Well, mom, what IS he? YIKES!!!! Are you getting all these questions? I don't remember if I asked all those things as a child. So needless to say I am having to stay on my feet with him. Cason also is really ready for Cason to start conversing with him. They're going to have so much fun when Carter can really play all the things Cason wants him to play.
Carter, of course, has been his busy little self. He is talking a little more but still is somewhat behind on verbal skills. He makes up for it with all his motor skills. He is very active! He is definitely growing up and slowly figuring some things out about life. He is also having fun at preschool. His class has 3 other little boys just like him so they are having a blast....their teacher is amazingly patient. She enjoys watching them have fun. A week and a half ago he got tubes in his ear after about 2 months of antiobotic, lots of doctor trips, and ear infections. Hopefully, that will help him.
While I was on my blogging break we also had Spring Break. Cason got to go to my parents, Grammie and Pepaw, house with the other older cousins. The three of them stayed for 3 nights and got to go Putt Putt golfing, and to the children's museum, and did a whole lot of playing. Carter stayed here and hung out with us. We got to spend a day swimming at a friends house, and we also used the oppurtunity to paint Cason's room. It's very fun now and he loves it!
Then came Easter and I struggled with all the hoopla and making sure that Cason knew why we have Easter. I decided to tell him that we have Easter because God and Jesus love us very much. I thought that was a good starting point for a just turned 4 year old. He got that and I was pleased. Then we definitely had the "hoopla". How 'bout 7 hunts in 4 days? That means a whole lot of fun and a whole lot of candy! It was a lot of fun. Carter finally caught on after the second one. He enjoyed hunting...I don't know if he ever realized there was stuff in them...which is fine with me.
So, there ya go. I am going to try one more time to keep current. Maybe it will help that for the first time since Carter was born my scrapbooks became current(up to their birthdays in Feb/March). But, as you've read...we've done quite a bit since their birthdays so I need to get busy.
Good night~
