Celebrate

YEAH! James' last day at his current job was Monday. We went out for a celebratory dinner with Bruce and Joyce and we were blessed to have some special friends in town, Heather, Caleb, and Ashlyn, so they were able to go eat with us also. We had a great dinner at Red Robin Burgers and enjoyed being able to celebrate the end of one job and the beginning of another. His first official day for the school district is next Monday!

THE EYE

Cason woke up yesterday morning and told me his eye was broke. It looked like he had been beaten up. I immedietly called the doctor and we were able to get in early yesterday morning. Our doctor said it looks like an insect bite of some kind to give him benydryl and if it wasn't better in 24 hours she needed to see him. GUESS WHAT? Today it is swollen shut...so needless to say we have an appointment in a couple hours. Hopefully, she will say that it is normal and stick to her first diagnosis of a bug bite. He just looks pathetic. It is becoming very frustrating to him that he can't open his eye.

July Fourth

We were on the beach for the holiday. What a great way to spend Independence Day. We've never been on the beach for the fourth. It was amazing how many cars and people showed up on that day and parked all the way down the beach...when it got dark I think every single person there went and bought a sack of fireworks to set off. It was a lot of fun to sit out there and watch all the fireworks down the beach...it went on for hours. Carter LOVED them, he pointed and squealed. Cason thought they were pretty but that they were too loud. He ended up falling asleep on the deck. So precious! Great memories.

We waited for months, and months, and then weeks, and days....Cason had a count down calender...and if he saw a picture of a beach he was like, "I'm going there!" So it finally came! YEAH! We were able to spend several days at a beach house in Surfside, TX, courtesy of James' grandparents. James' grandparents get a beachhouse every other year and the whole family goes and stays a week. We actually only stayed 3 nights, and 4 days. It was perfect. Our little people would have never lasted an entire week...they were absolutely exhausted by the time we went home.

Cason really didn't care much for the ocean, just like 2 years ago, but he loved being there, and playing in the sand, and getting carried into the water was fine. He had so much fun. The second day, we were in the water and it got in his face and in the sweetest voice he said, "I wish I had some schwim glasses." So, Minnie got him some during nap time and he was able to wear his "googles" that afternoon. Cason and Minnie spent alot of time building sandcastles and playing in the muddy sand, and playing with bubble wands (the best $2.00 I ever spent).

Carter, of course, was a whole different story. Those of you who know the boys won't be surprised at the fact that Carter RAN as fast as his little legs could go all the way to the water, giggling, and growling all the way. He was absolutely hillarious. He was so much fun to watch...he hardly ever sat still. He ran back and forth, in and out of the water. He did stop every once in a while to play in the sand. Again, the difference in the boys personalities came out. Cason "cleanly" played in the sand while Carter threw it all over himself and tasted it numerous times....something Cason NEVER did-not even at Carter's age. He fell face first in the ocean, got up, dusted himself off, and kept running. But what is it about kids that can get all kinds of wet while playing in the ocean or the pool and then you try to wash their hair in the bath and the scream their heads off? I really don't get that.

I had the most fun watching them play and have new experiences, and making new memories. I absolutely love watching my kids have fun and experience new things!

Enjoy the pictures!

Let's Watch Ball

It was a guys night. James' dad had tickets to go see the baseball team that plays near our home. Cason was so excited to get to go with just the guys and to ride in Grandaddy's truck! So they had a great time...eating hot dogs, chips, cotton candy, and I really don't know what else they had since I wasn't there. Cason definetely had fun-here are a few pics. (Did I mention they were in a box?)
