First day of preschool

Carter is not sitting
Cason thinking he has better things to do.

Okay, we know Cason and Carter are two very different kids. Every year when Cason starts school he sits outside on the bench and waits for his picture. So I have great pics of Cason at Carter's age ready for his first day. This did not happen this year...Carter doesn't sit...Cason thought he would follow suit and not pose for a first day picture...but that's okay because I will know when I look at those pictures I'll know thats what was going on. Sometimes I just have to let go and not have the perfect picture and know that the picture I have was their mood for that day and shows their personality!

Carter...what more do I say

At a friends house...completely comfortable on their table.
Cereal on his face, don't ask me how.

It just seemed wrong to give Cason all that space and not give some space to Carter....or as we call him Carter Bug....he is so very different from Cason....the words quiet and reserved are not used when talking about Carter...Cason was not even like this when he was little so as Carter gets older it's going to be interesting to see the difference in their personalities. Carter is HILARIOUS! He runs around growling like a tiger, he loves to climb, we have pics of him on top of tables, under tables, in the dishwasher, in the refrigerator, standing in rocking chairs...he's just a busy kind of guy...not bad, though....it's not like he's getting into things he's not supposed to...he just stays busy. He doesn't sit for long(watching a football game is probably not going to work for him...playing the football game would work better) He's still not really talking much-mostly he grunts and growls, and stomps his feet when he wants something...but he's just so precious that for the moment we aren't gonna worry about the not talking thing. The one word he does say now which is totally appropriate for him is "GO!"

Playing football

Cason, Mr Creative

Sweet Cason

(Warning:This may become boring, but it's my way of getting all in writing so I don't forget it)Cason is such a quiet reserved little guy and always has been. (not at all like Carter) But when he talks everything that comes out of his mouth is full of creativity, imagination, and humor. His imagination is HUGE and sometimes EXHAUSTING for whoever is playing with him. We have to act out scenes from cars, he tells you who you are and what lines you are going to say...we act out scenes from backyardigans and Monster Trucks with the same rules....I just can't even describe the scope of his imagination...he constantly has SOMETHING going on....

-recently I went into his room...he is sitting on a little stool with his bible facing his bed and all his cars were lined up down the bed facing him...he told me he was the teacher and he was teaching them about Moses. PRECIOUS MOMENT

-the other day he had both hands full(probably with cars) and he was trying to open a door...he looked at me and said, "Could you help me, I'm not a hoctopus(octopus)?" I thought that was so clever.

-Sunday at church I gave him a dollar to put in the plate and usually he just has coins...so he was examing his dollar and told James that was his money which is where James reminded him that it was actually God's money....in the most serious face he looked up at James, pointed at George Washington, and said "Is THAT God?" James of course says no and Cason is then very inquisitive about who that is....so funny...the whole pew enjoyed the moment!

-He's been very inquisitive about God lately...riding in the car he wanted to know if God was with us and I of course told him that yes, God is always with us, then he pointed at another car and wanted to know if God was with them so I told him yes and he just sat quiet...processing I guess...last night we got out of our car and he asked me..."God is with us, right mom?" I can't imagine what all is going through his little head and is that a scary thought to little guys that God is with us all the time and we can't ever see him? If some mother wants to give me some advice on that I'll listen.

-last night was James' teams first football game and though Cason went to about 30 football games when he was a little guy he hasn't been to one since he was old enough to remember....he had lots of questions about what was going on....who were those girls(cheerleaders), when were they going to play ball....are those guys(the players)fighting....why aren't those guys playing(the guys on the sidelines waiting), why couldn't he go give daddy a hug..."I can be really really fast and come right back."...After the first game a player came into the stands to talk to his parents and you would have thought he was some famous superhero...Cason looked at him with these huge eyes and said, "Momma, LOOK at that." and pointed to the player...he was so in awe of that kid in his uniform and pads in the stands and so close to us like a moviestar....he just watched him and watched him and as he left Cason said, AND he has a HELMET!" So sweet...I think he's definitely going to enjoy football season.....

He's just so fun right now to watch and listen to all the things that go through his little head.

It's been a while

It's obviously been a while since I've written. It's funny how time goes...it seems that we've been so crazy busy and yet haven't really done a thing...does that make sense. Since the last post, the boys and I have started back to "preschool" 2 days a week, James has started his teaching/coaching job, his team had their first game, we've spent a few weekends away, Cason has said some funny things, and so basically we've just lived life! The above events will be individually blogged on as my time permits.
